1️⃣ First step: The medical prescription
✔ Consult your general practitioner, who will need to fill out a special medical prescription called appendix 1. .
✔ If your doctor is not familiar with this document, we can send it to him or her by e-mail.
✔ It will indicate the severity level of your condition, which will determine the type of wheelchair needed (standard, modular, care, or electric).
2️⃣ Free assessment and home visit
✔ Once you have the prescription, send it to us and call us.
✔ A mobile certified bandager from CDI Medical will come to your home for free to:
- Check your specific needs (type of chair, dimensions, accessories).
- Ensure that the chair is suitable for your environment (door sizes, home accessibility).
3️⃣ Request for authorisation from the mutual insurance
✔ Standard wheelchair :
- We are sending the authorisation request to the medical advisor of your mutual insurance.
- The agreement may take several weeks before it is validated.
- Once the agreement is obtained, we will order the chair, which will be delivered to your home.
✔ Modular or electric chair :
- A multidisciplinary agreement is required with several specialists to precisely validate your needs.
- Once approved, we order a bespoke chair, along with the necessary accessories.
4️⃣ Delivery and installation of your wheelchair
✔ Upon receipt of your chair, we will deliver it to your home.
✔ We make all the necessary adjustments to ensure your comfort and safety.
✔ You sign the equipment delivery certificate, which allows CDI Medical to obtain reimbursement from social security.
📅 Deadlines to anticipate
Between the prescription and the receipt of the chair, the process can take 1 to 2 months, depending on the type of chair and administrative delays.
